CM Punk Is Swell

Colt Cabana & Cm Punk put over Gregory Iron last weekend at a AAW show. Gregory Iron is a indy wrestler who has cerebral palsy. I personally think he is awesome just for the fact that he has Bobby Brown's "On Our Own" from Ghostbuster 2 soundtrack for his theme song. Five Stars

It's a Good Time to Be a Fan

All I can say is just sit back and watch a master at work.

Punk seems to just keep getting better. Last night he practically had a face turn in Cena's hometown. I won't pretend to know where his contract is at, is he staying, is he going. The dirt sheets have different reports everyday and it seems like no one truly knows and it adds to the intrigue of the whole thing.

Here is the negotiation from the last part of the show. I hated Cena's normally mild Massachusetts accent going into overdrive but considering how great Punk was its just nitpicking at this point.

Generation Me released from TNA

Generation Me had requested and was granted their release from TNA last night. I agree with this move, because they weren't really being used by TNA. What a way to go out by putting Eric Young and Sharkboy over. I hope this opens up to a Ring of Honor return, since they did wrestled a dark match at the last ROH PPV. They would be another "feather in the cap" for the already strong ROH tag division.

Separated at Birth: Bully Ray Shorts & Swimming Trunks

A Couple of Things

1) There's a part of me that tells me not to like this, but I can't help it. Maybe it's because I have been watching alot... I repeat lot of WCW from 1995 as of late, so maybe the Joker Sting kind of reminds me of the old Stinger. Plus anytime Hulk Hogan has to sell is pure magic. However, I feel like Sting is doing a bad Jm Carrey impersonation than the joker from "The Dark Knight".

2) Miss Tessmacher can give me the stinkface anyday....anytime

3) Let's all chip in and get Bully Ray some new shorts. I always feel like he just came from the beach.

4) Jerry Lynn is awesome

Your Scott Hall Mugshot of the Day

Scott turned himself in to start serving a sentence at Seminole County Jail in Florida for a bar altercation he was in last summer. Looking good, Scotty. Looking good.

The State of Things

Its been entirely too long since I've posted something. It makes no sense. Right now as a wrestling fan there is so much going on. Obviously #1 being CM Punk's tremendous promo from RAW last week. Also another great ROH iPPV. Eddie Edwards and Davey Richards attempted to kill one another. Just a brutally physical, emotional, and wonderful match.

First things first, lets talk about Punk. I've made it no secret he's been my favorite guy in the business since I've gotten back into wrestling. After watching that promo how can anyone think he doesn't have the potential to be the best draw WWE has now? There's just one problem...

I think he really is leaving. I think Vince let him go out there and say what he needed to say within reason to set up the angle. Though a worked shoot style interview, I have a hard time believing that Punk didn't believe every word he was saying up there. If he didn't then he deserves an Oscar.

What a let down. He has his Austin 3:16 moment. His defining break out moment in the WWE, and now he very well might be gone. I hope in the bottom of my gullet that he truly has re-signed or extended his contract so they make more than just a PPV buyrate out of this.

WWE finally has the lightning in a bottle they've been missing since characters like The Rock and Stone Cold. I know I'm not the first to say this, but how great would it be to see Punk go to RoH with the WWE title as part of the angle, give them a little rub? Or how about a RoH style invasion angle? Team up Punk with Danielson, Tyler Black, and add the Kings of Wrestling. Its a wet dream.

It will definitely be interesting to see if they use this opportunity and make it as big as it could be, or if they squander it. I used to think that Vince McMahon was a genius and would never squander such a possibility, but the last 10 years have made me see some chinks in the old "Vince is a genius" armor.

On to the RoH iPPV. Money well spent yet again. A lot of really good matches, a great angle with Kevin Steen, and a lights out match of the year contender in the main event. Is it September 24th already? I'm sick of waiting.

That's all for now, make sure and watch the amusing video of Punk singing "Chicago" if you get a chance. The money moment is after he holds the off key note he notices how bad it is and does it for just as long in another pitch. Great stuff.

I am Mr Wonderful

I was just watching Fall Brawl '95: War Games today and came across this little gem. Not only does it have Mr Wonderful doing his best at acting, but it also has Dan Spivey! I'm glad Mr Wonderful got his "Smile" back.
