Michael Cole: Worse Than I Figured

Regardless of how you feel about the Jerry Lawler/Michael Cole angle there was no denying that it was big. They dragged Jerry's mother dying into it. They spent weeks building Cole into a heel you wanted to see not only beat by Lawler but possibly murdered.

The question that begs to be asked is why did they not prepare Cole better for this match? He was atrocious. The "bumps" he did take were awkward and I'm sure that's why his mouth was bleeding at the end of the match. It looked terrible.

I know its not necessarily fair to compare Shane McMahon to Cole, but Shane is not a wrestler and he prepared for the matches he had to an insane degree. He obviously learned how to take bumps. He obviously wanted to do more than just roll around. It paid off because his matches were at least entertaining.

Everyone I watched Wrestlemania with was waiting for Lawler to piledrive Cole. Nothing. It would have been priceless. Michael could show up with a full halo or a neckbrace tonight on Raw. It would have been a fun bump and it was Jerry's move!

I also don't understand why they had Cole and Lawler announce the first half of the PPV before their match. It was more awkward than Cole's bumps. Poorly executed.

At least all of it lead to JR calling a few matches. Accentuate the positive
